This is the Difference Between Managing & Leading

Don’t manage people, lead people. Inspire them. You can manage process. Make sure you keep the two separate.

The core of good management is:

  • Planning
  • Operating
  • Controlling

It’s the key to a sound process in any business.

The key to good leadership is to inspire people while being fair, firm and consistent.

To have any level of success as a manager:

  • You need to inspire your people
  • You need to manage their process. Plan and maintain an operational control while being fair and consistent with your staff.

  • Management is abstract; managers deal with resources. Leadership is hands-on; leaders communicate, motivate, and make decisions.
