A Random Act Of Kindness Goes A Long Way

"You know what I like about you and what I really like about entrepreneurship? I like that people love it so much that they want to give back to the game. "
- Gary Vaynerchuck

On the most recent episode of my podcast, Unplugged with Brandon Steiner, I spoke with CEO of VaynerMedia, four-time New York Times bestselling author, and internet personality Gary Vaynerchuk.

Gary Vaynerchuk has changed the game for social media. He is a serial entrepreneur who started by turning his father's wine company from $4 million in revenue to over $60 million and has since created VaynerMedia, as well as been an early-investor in companies such as Twitter, Snapchat, Uber and Venmo. Gary is one of the most dynamic personalities in entrepreneurship, and is influencing thousands of young entrepreneurs with his show, #AskGaryVee, which I was happy to join earlier this summer (and where today's podcast is from).

A lesson from our talk: do as many kind things for others as you possibly can. Without a doubt, that will become the greatest part of your day.

Each day at Steiner Sports the first thing I do when I walk into my office is go though my social media comments and emails and I choose two people I can do something for. I don't even have to necessarily know them, all I know is that I will do it without expecting anything else in return.

Each day you should have at least one goal to make someone else's day better. Whatever else happens to you that day, you can go to sleep at night knowing your day was a success.

In this episode we discuss:

  • Having high energy in the office.
  • "You're only as good as your last at-bat."
  • How I created the Everything Bagel.
  • Doing two random acts of kindness a day.
  • How much you pay vs. how much you can make.
  • ...and more.
