I remember Rick Jackson, a tough power forward from Philly at Syracuse. Things weren’t going well one game and he was walking off the court. He had a very defeated look about him. His body language just wasn’t right.
I told him at a practice once that if he continues to do that his competition would pick up on that. You never want to show people that they got you.
I love this rant that Geno Auriemma went on because he’s saying that he does not tolerate anything but everyone pulling for the success of the team, nothing else matters.
If you don’t have this mindset, you’re not playing.
I think the same thing is true in business. I think what management really looks for is people that are positive and optimistic. The question is, are you willing to be the type of person Geno looks for?
