What Else?

Lately I’ve been thinking more and more about what What Else? means. Is it the mentality that you should never be satisfied and always be looking for some new edge? Or is it just a value proposition?

Right now, I’m leaning towards the latter.

See, a little while ago, I was having dinner with a couple of friends, we were talking shop, and I was saying: “I could be doing this, I could be doing that,” and one of them said to me, “Brandon, what else do you need? Look what you have!”

She had a point. It seems like when you start trying to think of What Else’s unilaterally – in every portion of your life – it makes you feel like you’re never satisfied - or happy - with what you have.

Maybe the real question is: Is where you are right now - and what you have right now – enough sometimes?  Maybe there’s no What Else today. Maybe there will be tomorrow, but it’s not a seven-days-a-week proposition.

Maybe you have what you need right now - be it at work, or at home – and your job is to be grateful for it and to enjoy it.

Am I happy with where CollectibleXchange is today? Am I happy with the direction we are going? Yes. But am I satisfied with where we are and where we are heading? Yes and no. I am always happy, but I am never satisfied. There is always more to be had.
