SOS: Don't Be Stuck On Stupid!

Last week, my friend Jesse Itzler came to my office for the second time to discuss the release of his brand new book "Living With The Monks" on my podcast. "Monks" is the much-anticipated sequel to his NY Times bestseller "Living with a SEAL", which is one of my favorite books. The book drives so many points home about perspective and priorities.

During our conversation, Jesse discussed one particular subject that really caught my attention. When he was at the monastery experiencing the monks' way of life, he learned to let go of the stupid things he was stuck on.

This really got me thinking about some of the "important" things I always make sure to do on a daily basis. For example, I thought about how long it takes me every day to think about what I want to eat for lunch. The answer? Too long!

We all spend too much time worrying about the little things, and the stress we feel from abiding by those insignificant things ends up hurting us in the long run.

Don't be stuck on stupid. Don't be overloaded in your life. You'll have much more energy and will feel so much more efficient if you let some of the little things go.

If you're looking for a perfect Father's Day gift, I would highly recommend buying both "Living With A SEAL" and "Living With The Monks"! If you're looking for laughs and a way to change things up, these books are game changers.

  • Sadly many areas of this country have been STUCK ON STUPID for many years now. How are we as individuals supposed to make it through the insane maze of STUPIDITY that the majority of Democrats have done spending all their time bashing President Trump with STUPIDITY? Or Republican John McCain being the key person that blocked the end of OBAMA-DOESN’T-CARE Health care which broke this country’s entire Medical Field. Quality doctors have been bailing out of hospitals nationwide since 2009 due to the incoming Obamacare which tookm so much away from quality doctors that they could no longer afford to work in hospitals, so they opened their own Private Practices where HMO insurance holders CANNOT SEE THEM!
Then the entire Medicaid system broke in NYC: also started in 2009 and was seen by tens of thousands of the most vulnerable NYC people: the very disabled and the elderly. If you were homebound with no one helping you during that period from 2010-present and they took away benefits you needed to live, you were screwed. If you couldn’t fight like crazy for 33-months non-stop like I had to do with every little bit of strength I had, I never would have gotten my Medicare Savings Program back that I lost due to GROSS NEGLIGENCE by Adult Protective Services (APS) and Medicaid who kept changing my home mailing address to APS’s Office in Jamaica, NY. The crazy thing is I NEVER HSD AN OPEN CASE WITH APS IN JAMAICA, NY. Yet it took 33-months with the “help” of an Assemblyewoman and Congresswoman and both had no effect on getting my benefit back. Only my fighting ghot that benefit back after over a DOZEN “Fair Hearings” by telephone which i9s nearly useless because Medicaid never sends Evidence Packsges to clients ON TIME for these Fair Hearings that all Administrative Law Judges REQUIRE I HAVE to go forward with the Fair Hearing. So they’d adjourn my case OVER & OVER & OVER instead of FIXING the problem with Medicaid’s Mailroom being as BROKEN as the entire Medicaid system in NYC!!!
HOW MANY ELDERLY & DISABLED PEOPLE DIED BECAUSE OF THIS GROSS NEGLIGENCE FROM MEDICAID?
The loss of my Medicare Savings Program was costing me an average of $150.00 qa month out of my low Soc. Sec. Disability check to begin with.
Now that I FINALLY got my MSP back because I refused to give up and I kept a Facebook journal to help others going through similar GROSS NEGLIGENCE problems caused by APS and/or Medicaid my SSD went from $1,025 a month to $1,200. Plus they STILL own me $3,045 in back-pay!
The whole government is broken, it’s not been by the people, for the people in decades! NOT IN NYC! We’ve had two AWFUL Mayors in a row (Bloomberg and DiBOZO) who couldn’t care less about the least of NY citizens who worked their whole lives and had no choice but to be put on Soc. Sec. Disability. But due to their negligence, huge amounts of money just disappeared from OUR budget. So the very first people they took money from was the elderly and homebound disabled!
It was Mahatma Ghandi who said “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.”
