For all of you workaholics out there.
Yes, you know who you are.
I'm talking to you!
I'm talking to those of you who put work first and everything else later, "when you have time".
Right now, you're grinding it out. And you probably have been for a while.
You've possibly been working late often, traveling for work a lot, eating badly, and rarely exercising.
And you don't feel great.
Wonder why?
How is your faith? Your friends? Your love life?
Do you even know what winning is for your spouse or kids?
Here are a couple ground rules you should follow:
1) When you compete with your health and body, the body will always win!
2) I'm going to ask all of you to implement the 24 hour rule in your life. When you're asked to do anything that will take you away from your family and friends and from doing what you need to do for yourself, don't say yes and don't say no.
Instead, pause and say "I will get back to you tomorrow."
Take a day. Why?
Because when you say yes to one thing, you are saying no to something else.
3) Winning is about smartsmanship.
You don't want to be the hardest working person.
You want to be the smartest working person who also works hard.
When you are a winner and a person who gets things done, people are going to want even more from you and you're going to want more from you.
4) You have to have your MVP list at all time (most valuable priorities). Remember who is most important. The MVP list is the most important list you have!
Family, faith, fitness, friends and co-workers have to come first. Period.
The most important things are the most important things! Prioritize the most important people in your life. You are included in that group.
By the way - do the most important things for the most important people EVERY day!
Listen, I'm not saying "don't do shit." You gotta be you, and yes, stay you!
But remember - the least used button on your TV remote is the pause button. And the MVP list is the most important list you have.
