The Top 22 Books You Need on Your Reading List

With the start of summer on its way, I compiled a list of books that will get you on the right track and take you further in both your business and your personal life. When you head out to the beach or to go sit by the pool, consider taking one of these must-reads with you:

  1. The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday – a great read on getting the right mental mindset
  2. The Energy Bus by John Gordon – for anyone who manages or coaches people it’s a must-read
  3. Swimming with the Sharks Without Being Eaten Alive by Harvey Mackay – a must-read for any young business person
  4. How to Stop Worrying and Start Living / How to Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie – mandatory reading at Steiner Sports for year. A great book for anyone starting out in life or business. If you worry a lot this is a no-brander.
  5. What They Don’t Teach You at Harvard Business School by Mark McCormack – a legendary book from a great entrepreneur.
  6. Aspire by Kevin Hall – just a great book on the power of words.
  7. The Fred Factor by Mark Sanborn – ask not what you can do for you, but what you can do for you.
  8. The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard – one of the most influential business books of all-time. An oldie, but a goodie. For anyone trying to step up their game as a manager.
  9. How to Sell Anybody Anything by Joe Girard – another piece of required reading at Steiner Sports. You’ll make a lot of money using this guy’s techniques.
  10. Greatest Success in the World by Og Mandino – a must-read for any age, but especially for young business people.
  11. The Business Playbook by Brandon Steiner – What can I say? It was my first book and is great for any young sales person. If you want to make a change and get in your “what else” frame of mind, this is for you.
  12. The Score Takes Care of Itself by Bill Walsh – there are some great coaching books out there, but this is for anyone who wants to run an extraordinary team or company.
  13. The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz – as the title says, it’s a practical guide that will help you reach a level of personal freedom
  14. Delivered from Distraction by Edward Hallowell – for anyone with ADHD or OCD issues.
  15. Fit for Life / Living Without Pain by Harvey Diamond – Fit For Life is a classic and Living Without Pain is a new release from iconic nutrition author Harvey Diamond. These books will both help you get on the healthy track.
  16. The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrew – another inspiring book.
  17. Sandbox Wisdom by Tom Asacker – great for business owners and managers.
  18. We Got Fired by Harvey Mackay – it could be the best thing that ever happened to you.
  19. Good to Great by Jim Collins – great business book.
  20. Nice Companies Finish First by Peter Shankman – great customer service book.
  21. The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks – for anyone out there struggling with their marriage.
  22. You Can Negotiate Anything by Herb Cohen – another oldie, but goodie.
