It's time for the next installment of The Hook-Up and like every passing episode, I could not be more excited about this one.
I had a really incredible opportunity to work with Alex Rodriguez and Bernie Williams for two special Hook-Ups.
I had been introduced to the family of a 12-year-old boy in Long Island named Jason, who is a huge Yankee fan and, of course his favorite player is Alex. Unfortunately, Jason was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, so I went to his house in Long Island to do a memorabilia makeover of the room he shares with his brother and then I brought his entire family on the field before a game at Yankee Stadium before surprising him with Alex himself.
Also in the episode, Bernie Williams and I flew out to Shelter Island to surprise campers at Kids Need More with a special "concert" from Bernie. In addition to bringing the camp new guitars, Bernie played "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" for everyone to enjoy. Kids Need MORE is a week-long volunteer-run camp for children battling cancer and their siblings.
The first airing of the show is tonight on YES Network at 11pm ET with additional re-airs to follow. I owe a big thank you to Alex, Bernie, PinkTie.org, Jim Kaplan with Chasella Group, Kids Need MORE, Shoreline Aviation and Guitar Center for being a part of this episode.
