Transplant Recipient Supports Patient Waiting for Heart

You might remember that last year on the debut episode of “The Hook-Up with Brandon Steiner” on YES Network we helped Colby Salerno, an aspiring medical student who had undergone a heart transplant, with a “Hook-Up.” We hosted him at NYY Steak in Manhattan, had him meet Goose Gossage, an all-time great Yankee, and ran an auction to benefit his medical school education.

If you haven’t heard Colby’s story already, Colby had spent 180 days in the hospital while he waited for a new heart. During that time, he started a blog called, "Tales from the 10th Floor", which served as an inspiration for individuals in similar situations.

Colby is still making headlines, as he was recently featured on NBC supporting a patient awaiting a heart transplant of his own. I can’t say enough about this feel-good story and how great Colby and the entire Salerno family is for sharing their experiences to help others.
