Steiner Sports launched its 'In Their Own Words' memorabilia collection, featuring historic moments in sports as described by the athletes themselves. TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino meets with some of the greatest players in history to hear their stories. Dennis Rodman, the 27th overall pick in the 1986 NBA draft, says the Detroit Pistons took a chance on him, which Rodman believes saved his career. The Detroit fan base and the rugged 'Bad Boys' players like Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, Rick Mahorn and Vinnie Johnson were understanding with a young, wet-behind-the-ears kid, bringing him to that hard-nosed level of play. New York Rangers Brian Leetch explains what it was like to be the first American to win the MVP award, explaining it was about more than one person, but rather the team dynamic. Mookie Wilson and Keith Hernandez of the 1986 New York Mets World Series highlight their contributions in the miracle win over the Boston Red Sox in Game 6.
