The Cubs and memorabilia specialist Steiner Sports today will announce a joint venture that will market authenticated game-used items such as balls, bats, bases, lineup cards, pitching rubbers, home plates and Wrigley Field dirt, along with hand-signed collectibles from former Cubs including Ernie Banks, Andre Dawson and Bruce Sutter. The venture, to be called Cubs-Steiner Collectibles, also plans to auction on-field experiences, including the chance to take batting practice at Wrigley.
Steiner Sports has similar relationships with the Yankees, Red Sox and Cowboys, as well as the Univ. of Notre Dame and Univ. of Alabama.
